Not many people get the chance to experience the feeling of sitting in a cockpit of an airliner and control it by themselves. Nearly everybody knows the sentence „when I grow up, I want to be a pilot“ from the own childhood or from children. However the most people are not allowed to realize this dream – whether of age-related, health-impaired, job-related or multitude other reason.
Out of the personal passion for flying and the wish to enable everybody this emotion the idea develops to open a flightsimulator and by that JetSim in Berlin.

Flightsimulator

To offer you a complete and hallucinatory adventure without outside influences (light, sounds) the simulator is completely enclosed with an shell. By that fact a seamless 180 degree panorama view on a curved screen was enabled as well.

The flightsimulator has a instructor-station, which is placed behind the cockpit. There, all parameters (e.g. weather, daytime, airport, position of the aircraft, failures, etc.) will be adjusted before and if recommended, changed during the flight.

Over 24.000 airports are simulated worldwide . Additionally the simulation was supplemented and enhanced with further sceneries, add-ons, special settings and own-programmed textures.

The integrated sound-system reflects the real cockpit-sounds in loudness and tone and generates the vibrations of the airplane.

Our A 320 flightsimulator is a fixed-base flight simulator which means there is no motion platform installed. In terms of construction, instruments and software configuration, an A 320 is being simulated to the highest possible degree of accuracy. The cockpit is equipped with all the instruments featured in a real A 320, with only minimal differences from the original.

The simulator largely meets the requirements for synthetic training devices of the Federal Office for Aviation according to JAR-STD 3A (FNPT II).
Please note that our simulator is not one of the original professional simulators used by commercial airlines for training purposes but rather a professional reconstruction at the latest technological level.

We explicitly point out that there exists no aspect of reference to the company Airbus.

JetSim-Team

Stephan Walkhoff (instructor – general manager and partner) fly's since 2001 real planes (with a total-flying-time of several hundred hours) and receives 2002 his pilot-license. Also he worked as a safety- pilot (attendance and support of unskilled pilots) during several training-inhabitations in the USA .
He spend several hours in some full-motion-simulator of “Lufthansa Flighttraining” and reams weeks with computer-based-trainings relating to the Airbus A 320 to expand his expert knowledge and to know nearly everything about the aircraft, its systems, their functions and their handling.
He is the man in charge for the aeronautical and professional assistance of our guest and also for all flight-related, technical and simulator-related aspects of the company. He carries for education and further training in all flight-related topics of the JetSim-Team as well.

Daniel Jaeckel (instructor – general manager and partner) is the man in charge for business management and the first customer service (reception, phone- and e-mail-service). Because of his interest and talent in arts he is responsible for layout and design. After many training hours with Stephan Walkhoff in the simulator, he also supports our flying guests.

Peter Schmidt is the „kind angel” of the company. He keeps cool in the stressful situations and supports the young economics in several areas. He brings in many knowledge and hints by his long-time work- and life-experience. With his technical fortunes he assists on attendance and technical add-ons.
